Our Process

Entrusting your jewelry to someone else is deeply personal—and we take that responsibility seriously. From the moment you reach out to us, every step of our process is designed to provide clarity, care, and complete peace of mind.

The journey begins by completing our inquiry form, where you’ll share details about your piece and what you’re envisioning—whether it’s a simple restringing or a full redesign. From there, our team carefully evaluates your request and provides a personalized quote. For more intricate redesigns, we may invite you to a brief video consultation to better understand your vision and ensure every detail is aligned.

Once your quote is approved, you’ll receive clear, step-by-step instructions for safely mailing your piece to us. We understand the sentimental and financial value of your jewelry, and we guide you through secure shipping options to ensure it arrives safely.

Upon Arrival

When your piece arrives at our studio, it is handled with the utmost care. We begin with a meticulous examination and full documentation process. Each pearl is measured, the overall length of your necklace or bracelet is recorded, and detailed photographs are taken to capture its current condition. This ensures complete transparency and provides a reference point throughout the restoration or redesign process.

If we discover anything that requires your attention—such as structural concerns or opportunities to improve durability—we will promptly reach out via text or email to discuss next steps before proceeding.

The Process Begins

The restoration or redesign process then begins. The original string is carefully removed, preserving the integrity of each pearl. In some cases, remnants of the old string may remain within the pearls and require delicate removal. Should this arise, we will communicate with you before moving forward.

Your pearls are then thoughtfully laid out in their original pattern—or a newly designed arrangement—and restrung using the traditional Chinese silk knotting technique. This time-honored method, practiced by skilled artisans, ensures both beauty and durability. Our team is highly trained in this specialized craft, creating precise, individually knotted strands that protect each pearl and enhance the longevity of your piece.

Completion

Once restringing or redesign is complete, clasps are securely attached and final knots are reinforced using professional-grade techniques. Your pearls are gently cleaned and polished—either before or after restringing as appropriate—to restore their natural luster.

Before your piece is returned, we provide you with final images for your review and approval. Only once you are completely satisfied do we prepare your jewelry for shipment.

Your finished piece is carefully packaged and returned to you using insured shipping, ensuring it arrives safely and beautifully presented.
